Background information
Sporthotel Zoll in Sterzing, South Tyrol, will reopen in June 2026 following a renovation with a new focus aimed at guests who want to tailor their vacation specifically around sports. The program centers on the three pillars of “rest.revive.refuel” – exercise, recovery, and nutrition. The hosts and siblings Michael and Kathrin Messner, both former competitive athletes, have developed a clearly structured and scientifically grounded concept that practically integrates these three pillars. Active guests of all fitness levels will soon be able to choose from seven customized programs at the time of booking—ranging from Vitalpina Outdoor Active for recreational athletes to Athletes Pro Performance for ambitious trainers. All programs include personalized training, diagnostics, and individual support. Every stay begins with a check-up, based on which personalized training recommendations and access to an app are provided so that the training plan can be continued at home. The focus is on health, well-being, and performance. The new centerpiece of the facility is the 700-square-meter Performance Center, equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, including a HYROX zone and innovative recovery tools. Nutrition is a central component of the concept: guests receive guidance on how to optimally balance training and nutrition, while the kitchen serves balanced, seasonal, and regional dishes prepared in a healthy, low-fat manner. Guests can also enjoy the spa area, which features a sauna complex, pools, and treatments designed for relaxation after an intense workout.
