Background information Set in a secluded location at 850 metres above sea level, the four-star superior Hotel Bergkristall in Oberstaufen combines its Allgäu roots with contemporary design and unspoilt nature. The resort is run by the Lingg family in its third generation. Since 2025, following an extensive expansion, it has welcomed guests with the Kristall Spa, now expanded to 3,700 square metres, a 14-metre indoor sports pool, an outdoor infinity whirlpool, a two-storey fitness studio and the hotel's own cosmetics line EWIG by Bergkristall. As one of Germany's top wellness destinations, the hotel also offers an outdoor infinity pool and a large event outdoor sauna overlooking the hotel's own wildlife park and its resident stag Hansi. In 2026, six lake suites with private sauna, hanging bed on the terrace and private jetty into the mountain lake were added, together with six mountain suites with private sauna and whirlpool tub on the terrace. Also new is Stube 3, a restaurant with an open kitchen and a modern concept tailored entirely to the individual wishes of suite guests. The hotel's cuisine is rooted in Bavaria, shaped by French influences and united by craftsmanship. In spring and autumn, Bergkristall also offers Schroth fasting retreats with gentle, low-stimulation vegan alkaline cuisine.
