Background information
The FORSTGUT chalet village in Regen is located in the heart of the Bavarian Forest. The seven luxury chalets each boast floor-to-ceiling windows, a whirlpool and a covered terrace, while the five junior chalets in the FORSGUT.LODGE have their own sauna, free-standing bathtub and panoramic views over the forest. The topic of sustainability is very important to the two hosts Cornelia and Frank von Schnurbein. When building the chalet village, they relied exclusively on local craftsmen and regional raw materials. In addition, 95 per cent of the electricity is generated by their own photovoltaic systems on the roofs and a wood chip heating system covers 100 per cent of the heating requirements. Both contribute to the refuge's positive ecological balance. The Bavarian Forest Nature Park offers hikers and cyclists an extensive network of around 7,000 kilometres of marked hiking trails as well as gentle bike tours and challenging trails. In winter, there are numerous cross-country ski trails and idyllic routes for snowshoeing.
